The Freetown International Airport (FNA), which is commonly known as the Lungi International Airport, will be officially under new ownership and management from January 20th, 2023. The Turkish Company Summa Group will take over the management of the Freetown International Airport for the next 25-30 years until they recoup their US $ 270 Million investment.
This is according to a statement issued by the Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Transport and Aviation, dated 16 January 2022.
The statement revealed the official handing over of the Lungi International Airport to the Summa Group after rehabilitation.
This is a US$270 million build, operate, and transfer project between the private Turkish Summa Group and the Government of Sierra Leone.
The Turkish Company will officially take over the management of the Airport on the 23rd of January 2023 for a period of 25 to 30 years.
