The Tribunal set up by President Julius Maada Bio to investigate allegations of professional misconduct against the suspended Auditor General, Lara Taylor-Pearce and her Deputy, Tamba Momoh, is due to meet today at the High Court Building in Freetown.

The Auditor General and her deputy trail commenced on March 17 2022 and the inquiry was adjourned to 7 April 2022, after lawyers representing her stated that they were invited to appear without any published rules of procedure or rules of evidence and without any specific charges and no witness statements.

“We are questioning the jurisdiction of this panel. It is only the Supreme Court that is vested with the powers to interpret the constitution. So this matter has to be adjourned until the matter at the Supreme Court is determined by the Supreme Court,” Lawyer Rowland Wright told the Tribunal.

According to reports, yesterday, the Attorney-General’s office filed an affidavit in opposition to case filed by Lara Taylor-Pearce in the Supreme Court.
