As outlined in the 2024 Budget, tertiary educational institutions in Sierra Leone are set to witness a substantial staff augmentation. 

The government has earmarked the recruitment of 500 staff, effective April 2024, with a strategic allocation across different educational tiers.

Breaking down the recruitment distribution, universities will welcome 300 new staff members, colleges will see an addition of 100, and technical and vocational institutions are set to bring on board another 100 staff.

This comprehensive approach aims to address staffing needs and enhance the overall academic environment in these institutions.

This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to fortifying the education sector and fostering an environment conducive to learning and growth.
