Minister of Transportation and Aviation Hon. Fanday Turay has confirmed the upcoming opening of the Lumley transportation hub. This ambitious project, set to become a pivotal part of the nation’s transport infrastructure, is designed to significantly enhance the commuting experience for residents of Sierra Leone.

“We will continue to transform transportation in Sierra Leone,” Minister Turay emphasized. He elaborated on the features of the new hub, which include accommodation for the beloved Waka Fine buses, and ample provision of sheds and seating for hundreds of commuters. The facility will also provide extensive space for various modes of transport, including Poda Podas, Kehkehs, and taxis, ensuring a comprehensive and efficient transportation system.

The Lumley transportation hub is slated to operate around the clock, powered by solar energy to ensure sustainability and reliability. Additionally, the hub will include a car wash facility, adding further convenience for drivers and vehicle owners. The implementation of solar energy bulbs underscores a commitment to environmentally friendly practices, aligning with global trends towards green energy solutions.

Minister Turay’s announcement is seen as a crucial step in addressing the transportation challenges faced by commuters in Sierra Leone.
