The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has engaged The Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL) in a basket fund project board meeting.

The basket fund project board meeting project is aimed at fostering peaceful, credible and inclusive elections in Sierra Leone. The meeting also disclosed and incorporated the achievement made in 2022 and the set plans and steps for 2023 respectively.

ECSL recently received support from the European Union governance project which rolled out its second phase of the financial management training for district staff in the North and North-West regions as well as Kono District in the Northern regional headquarters of Makeni which may catch up with the June elections.

The ECSL has also concluded training sessions with the inter-religious council of Sierra Leone to ensure that religious leaders play a role in fostering peace and credible election.

With all these engagements carried out and still ongoing, many Sierra Leoneans anticipate a positive outcome in the June elections.
