The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) convened a mid-year review meeting with its governance cluster partners in Sierra Leone on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

The purpose of the meeting was to evaluate the progress made thus far and engage in strategic discussions regarding the upcoming months.

Sayed Sahibzada, the deputy representative of UNDP, emphasized the importance of effective collaboration among all partners to bring about positive change in the lives of Sierra Leoneans. He urged them to remain committed to their mission at all times.

In recent times, the UNDP, in conjunction with UN Peacebuilding and Global Namiti, has actively involved key stakeholders to promote responsible land acquisition in Sierra Leone. To achieve this objective, they have been working on developing a comprehensive land acquisition checklist.

By undertaking these initiatives, the UNDP aims to enhance governance practices and facilitate sustainable development in Sierra Leone.
