The Resident Representative to the Republic of Sierra Leone for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Fredrick Ampiah has reaffirmed their total commitment to supporting the media in Sierra Leone in strengthening the drive to positive change.
He maintained that, the role of the media in shaping the future of the country is vital one that needs to be amplified. In a meeting with media leaders including the President of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalist (SLAJ) Ahmed Said Nasralla, he expressed their support to partner with the association and others to enhance the media development in the country.
Ampiah has earlier speaking with Yada Williams, the chair of the Law Reform Commission Sierra Leone emphasized the critical role of the commission in ensuring that Sierra Leone’s legal frameworks are modern, equitable and reflective of current national aspirations.
He stressed that, the UNDP remains committed to supporting the progress and development of the country at all times.
