The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) continues its diligent efforts to tally the results of the multi-tier elections held on June 24, providing a transparent and efficient process at the Industrial Estate Wellington in Freetown.
With an abundance of both national and international observers, the ECSL ensures the integrity of the electoral process.
Observers, including members of the media, have been granted access to witness the meticulous data input procedures conducted by the ECSL staff.
At the tallying center, located within the same building, data is initially inputted before being transferred to the data entry staff.
In the presence of all parties involved, any discrepancies flagged by the data staff are immediately brought to everyone’s attention through laptop alerts, promoting accountability and accuracy.
To expedite the tallying process, the ECSL has implemented a round-the-clock operation, dividing the staff into three shifts. The morning shift has concluded, and the afternoon shift is currently diligently working towards completing the data input. Additionally, a night shift has been established to ensure the timely completion of the tallying process.
With the presence of numerous observers, both domestic and international, the electoral commission aims to instill confidence in the outcome of the multi-tier elections. Sierra Leoneans eagerly await the final results, which are expected to be announced once the ECSL completes the tallying process.
Stay tuned for further updates on the multi-tier elections from the ECSL as the tallying process progresses.
