The vice-Chancellor of Milton Margai Technical University (MMTU) Prof. Philip John Kanu has temporarily stepped aside as the investigation for sex for the grade commences.
Sierraloaded was reliably informed that Prof. Kanu stepped aside over the sex for grade investigation, contrary to the notion that he was indefinitely suspended from office due to his recent tribal outburst.
Last week, a leak video of the Vice-Chancellor blasting the Mendes went viral on social media. As a result, several citizens have been calling for him to resign. Some aggrieved lecturers also staged a protest, calling for his dismissal.
However, according to reports we gathered the university is currently conducting investigation on the recent sex for grades scandal, and therefore the Vice-Chancellor is stepping aside temporarily in order for him not to prejudice the investigation.
It could be recalled that earlier last month, Prof. Kanu disclosed that six lecturers, including Deans of Campuses and Heads of Departments were dismissed for various professional misconduct including sexually harassing female students, promoting and changing the grades of students.
