Communications strategist Vickie Remoe has urged the Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Dr. Haja Ramatulai Wurie, to reconsider the recent dissolution of the University of Sierra Leone court.

Remoe expressed concern over the disruption caused by the decision, highlighting its impact on students and faculty. She emphasized the need for a “compassionate and sympathetic” approach to address the situation.

She revealed some of the severe effects of the minister’s decision has caused ranging from postponing the exams of thousands of students, 4000+ students who were due to graduate in April have had their ceremonies delayed, and the strike action of lecturers among others.

“You are one of the cabinet ministers who represent the “new face of  #SierraLeone,” a brand of ambassadors, who say they are committed to a new way of doing and leadership.

“Your action to dissolve the court is not in line with this new direction, it is time to course correct.” She said.

Remoe acknowledged the possibility of the Minister being misled regarding the legality of the dissolution. She proposes rectification through the reinstatement of the court.

” I hope that you will consider reinstating the court and allowing due process. If you were misled by others about the legality of your action, we understand how this could have happened.

“It is time now for redress. Reinstate the university court” she stated.
