Following the appointment of Alhaji Dr. Alpha Khanu as Residence Minister of North West Region, which comprised Port Loko, Kambia and Karene districts, Vice President Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh reportedly held a successful secret meeting in Port Loko city at the weekend with some influential politics in the main opposition All People Congress (APC) party in that region.

According to insiders the purpose of meeting among other things, was for the Vice President to persuade them to give their fullest support to Alhaji Dr Alpha Khan when he will have been approved by parliament in the sprit of development and for the sake of peace and unity to reign in port Loko district in particular and North West Region in general.

Another purpose of the meeting the insiders went on was for Vice President Juldeh Jalloh to have the opportunity to convince the APC big guns in the region to consider pitching tents with the governing Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) ahead of the 2022 local council elections and the 2023 national election so as to give APC a good run for their money.

The turn up at the secret meeting was reportedly quiet encouraging as many of the APC stalwarts who attended it pledged to follow Hon Alhaji Alpha Khan wherever he goes especially when their own son of the soil Vice President Juldeh Jalloh, is the Deputy National Leader of the SLPP who would never let them down.

They also hailed President Bring (Rtd) Julius Maada Bio for appointing many of their brothers and sister in his administration and also taking development projects to the North -West Region for which they said they will reward him bountiful in the next presidential election, come next year.

They also shower words of pleasantries on the Vice President for his development strides in port Loko District with the backing of the SLPP Government and friends of Sierra Leone, assuring that they will turn the district and entire region green ahead of the two elections this year and next year.

According to The Satellite Newspaper, the secret meeting ended with the assurance of organizing such meeting as from the time to time in order to galvanize the SLPP in the north -west Region for the two electoral battles ahead.

The vice President also appreciate their large turn -up in the secret meeting their willingness to follow Hon Alpha Khan Wherever he goes there, their cooperation and readiness to turn the entire region green ahead of the elections.
