Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, has called on citizens to continue practicing the values of compassion, tolerance, and solidarity cultivated during Ramadan, urging that the spirit of the holy month be sustained in everyday life.

The Vice President made this appeal on Friday while joining Muslim worshippers for Eid al-Fitr prayers at the National Stadium practice field in Freetown, marking the end of a month-long period of fasting, reflection, and devotion.

In his post-prayer remarks, Dr. Jalloh emphasized that the spiritual discipline observed during Ramadan should not end with the celebration of Eid but should instead serve as a foundation for stronger social cohesion and peaceful coexistence across the country.

He noted that the essence of Ramadan—rooted in sacrifice, prayer, and self-restraint—offers important lessons for national development, particularly in fostering unity and mutual respect among citizens.

The Vice President further encouraged Sierra Leoneans to remain committed to the principles of kindness and understanding, stressing that these values are essential for maintaining harmony and addressing societal challenges.

Dr. Jalloh also used the occasion to commend religious leaders for guiding the faithful throughout the holy month and for ensuring a peaceful and spiritually enriching Eid congregation.

He concluded by calling for continued prayers for national peace and progress, as well as for the leadership of President Julius Maada Bio and the government, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to safeguarding stability and advancing the well-being of all Sierra Leoneans.
