The Wages and Compensation Commission (WCC) has issued a public notice, calling on all public sector institutions to submit their employees’ Terms and Conditions of Service.

The deadline for submission is set for 15th September 2024, with all relevant documents to be delivered to the Commission’s office at #8 Wesley Street, Freetown.

The WCC, also known by its acronym, was established under an Act of Parliament and formally signed into law by His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio on 13th April 2023.

Though it became operational in January 2024, the Commission has rapidly assumed a critical role in managing the country’s public sector workforce.

The WCC’s mandate is to determine fair wages and compensation for public sector employees across Sierra Leone.

It also seeks to harmonize the public sector pay system to ensure equity, merit-based remuneration, and overall transparency.

The commission aims to promote fairness and create a standardized system for managing public sector wages.
