Barrister & Solicitor of the High Court of Sierra Leone Wara Serry-Kamal has denounced the 2024 Sierra Leone Bar Assembly Elections held in Kenema on Sunday 18th May 2024.

According to Lawyer Serry-Kamal, there was no Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA) Election held. She described the outgoing Executive as a disgrace.

The SLBA Presidential Aspirant statement reads : “There was no Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA) Election held today.The Swallow Executive is a disgrace and the sham today shows the gross malaise in our country.. Our nation today sunk to a new low aided by lawyers and presided Over by the current ACC Commisioner.- Francis Ben Kaifala. We have to fight for our democracy,”

According to the contested results Madam Tuma  Adama Gento Jabbi secured 506 votes, overwhelmingly defeating her opponents Wara Serry Kamal, who received 23 votes, and Augustine S. Marrah, who obtained 15 votes. The election, held amid controversy, has been hailed with mixed reactions.

She made the formal declaration to run for the Bar Presidency on Thursday, 11 April, 2024 at 3rd Floor Freetown City Council Hall.

Key among her action areas are Professional Development and Welfare, Upholding the Bar’s Autonomy, Unification of the Bar, Enhancing Partnership’s and institutional strengthening.
