In a significant show of support for local law enforcement, the Chairman of the Western Area Rural District Council (WARDC), Kasho J. Holland Cole, presented a KAMA 5kva diesel generator and 100 liters of diesel to the Waterloo Police Division.

The donation was made to the Local Unit Commander (LUC), Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Joe Kamanda Bongay, to bolster the operational capabilities of the division.

During the brief handover ceremony, Chairman Kasho highlighted the notable improvements in the security situation since CSP Bongay assumed office. “Under LUC Bongay’s leadership, there has been a marked enhancement in the security of Waterloo. This generator, along with the diesel, is a token of our appreciation and support. It ensures that the station remains operational and well-lit, even during power outages,” stated Chairman Kasho.

LUC Bongay expressed his gratitude to Chairman Kasho and the WARDC team for their generous contribution. “This gesture is deeply appreciated. It will undoubtedly enhance our ability to maintain peace and security in Waterloo and its surrounding areas. We are committed to continuing our hard work to ensure the safety of our community,” said CSP Bongay.

The donation underscores WARDC’s commitment to supporting local institutions and enhancing the welfare of the community. The new generator and the accompanying diesel are expected to significantly aid the Waterloo Police Division in their efforts to maintain a secure and stable environment.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy by the council to provide essential resources and support to various sectors within the district, reinforcing their dedication to community development and safety.
