During the recent National Town Hall meeting which was organised for citizens to dialogue with the president, a woman faced serious backlash for questioning the president about the high prices of rice and locally-produced pepper.
The Minister of Information Chernor Bah went on to labeled her actions as “rude and impolite,” criticizing her approach despite the pressing nature of her concerns. Undeterred by the hostility, the woman persisted in addressing President Bio, emphasizing the financial strain on ordinary citizens caused by rising food prices.
Trying to continue discussing the issue despite the backlash, she issued a humble apology for any perceived disrespect, focusing on the urgent need for solutions to the high cost of essential food items.
Her bravery in confronting such a critical issue has sparked a broader conversation about government accountability.

Thanks so much for giving her audience …..let people learn to listen ….president Bio is a listening president ….There are alots of answers to that woman’s question ! Very simple ….The cost of living in sierra Leone is far much cheaper than most west African countries
The woman is making sense but the stupid supporters are not giving her chance
Nor to mada dae go plant pepper for u oh, d problem na Salone wi nr wan suffer e gain 4 wok …go na d village right nw den nr dae drink near by swamp water or water well wata na grafton nrmoh nw, so hw den go go na bush for mak farm or even plant vegetables….den all man na gold digger , bike riders….: so d small wan dem wae dae plant den go sell dem products dem dear …
Come to Mali u will know that Sierra Leone is far better
Brave and bold woman, I appreciate her concern. These are some of the questions Sierra Leoneans are supposed to be asking our president. The prices of our essentials products are very expensive in the market. And they pretend all is well…
Corrupt people everywhere. They could not even allow the innocent citizen to state her plight. A country full of greed.
Every man for himself
But we are surviving so why cheaper than some African country some of you are in this country don’t have any responsibility the only thing you guys are thinking of is your dealy bread only
Clearly a stage-managed gathering, lacks the spontaneity of a town-hall meeting. The only attempt to call this gathering a town hall meet was nearly muzzled by the Info Minister. Thankfully the Prezo saved the day. Expecting better next time…
Oops , a big shame to the minister of information, we are not yet ready and serious as a nation. Too sad , even the things that affect us should not be voice out. This action will go far and wide, no freedom of speech.
Concern citizen expressing her Feelings leaving goosebumps on Sierra Leonens😌😌
Concern citizen expressing her feelings leaving goosebumps on Sierra Leoneans😌😌
She is partially right, though those lunatics didn’t allow her to speak her mind.”
Thanks very much madam for such a brealient question
I am disappointed in Chernor Bah. Why call a town hall meeting when you’re not ready to listen to the heart cry of the ordinary man. The lady spoke from her heart and that’s her constitutional right. Who are all these people trying to take the mike from her. Even the president is asking that you allow her to talk. That’s maturity displayed by the president. Let us listen to people and try to give answers to their numerous questions.
If Chernor can talk a woman like that in front of HE Bio. I wonder what is happening at home and the office.
Felicitations madam for the proactive voice. Although we have bad media houses that can’t give all that you said.
Why is it that someone can’t say his or her mind, without partisans labeling the individual where he or she belongs? As the lady hit the nail the SLPP straight away classed her as APC, so indirectly you guys mean the gathering was meant only for the SLPP? May help Sierra Leone and wipe away all the bad politicians.

I would say Chernor Bah’s response was out of play and considered rude and impolite. Just because the lady voiced her frustration out in a question you dare addressed her with such disrespect… Look at those self-centered and greedy folks trying to snatch the microphone from the woman, all because she isn’t saying something that favors them or the party. Meeehhhnnn that’s bull shit.
We are in a state of political waters were two different ways describes the same thing. All citizens are fully charged and sensitive. Those on the right will defend situations and those on the left will criticize everything.
The fact that she stood up not only for herself but for all who are feeling the pinch is POWERFUL. In many cases I’ve seen most people water themselves down even when we are being mistreated and or disrespected out of the fear of us being looked upon as members of the main opposition simply because we stood up for the right thing and tried to condemn the wrongs of our own political leaders.
Minister of Information (Chernor Bah) needs to apologize to that woman because he was the one whom sounded rude and impolite.
Basically, the reason why the president called for such meeting is to get the views of the people of this country irrespective of party affiliation. And that depicts one quality of a great leader. Not everything a president will known about his country. Those around him most times will furnished him with wrong information. But getting it directly from the citizens themselves is quite appreciate. Thus the way and manner that lady was interrupted was not correct. One can actually sense the aggrieved manner she was. And giving her ample time to air out her grievances should have been better. And from that point, government can implement corrective measures.
It’s good to be having such meeting periodically. That’s Democracy!!! Sounding the views of the people!!!
This is the President Bio I knew for back in the days, listen and act.
The one that was rude there is the minister and not the young lady, she’s a citizen just like him under the rule of law, his attitude is unacceptable in a democratic society, she deserves all audience’s as she was talking about national issues affecting every Sierra Leoneans regardless of who you are.
She stood in a very huge gap where men with balls stood and were trembled and couldn’t do anything, she needs an accolade for standing for the nation.
C-Bah forgot that he is being paid the the tax money that the woman in question is paying? He lives under wavers while she pays her tax for him to be paid, including all civil servants and those hypocrites distracting her.
In contrast, this is what is expected of us as Sierrra Leoneans to hold these folks accountable for their incompetence, and inability to serve us.
The people are the boss Mr minister, lonta!
This is very shameful to even watch. Do they understand democracy at all…? Such moderator call himself a journalist? Stomach filled journalism. This is nonsense town hall whatever whatever.. bull shit
Very shameful of u Mr. minister, this is the country , where people cannot voice out what is affecting them in their daily life they will identify u as Apc😳😳🥱
She was making a good point by giving her opinion but her behaviour was rude.
Way you the ask you papa questions or requesting you for be polite in your speech.
