Children Forum Network (CFN) Kono Chapter with support from World Vision International Sierra Leone in partnership with Street Child of Sierra Leone has facilitated two days Child Participation in Local and National Government Planning and budget Processes event in Kono District and presented a three page position paper to the Chairman of the Kono District Council and the Mayor of the Koidu New Sembehun City Council.

The Two days engagement created a platform where the Children were able to discussed and identified issues affecting children in the district and profiled solutions to the two councils on how to address the issues through their Local and National Government Planning and budget Processes.

Christina Kaminty is the President of the Children Forum Network (CFN) Kono Chapter; said that as children in the district, there are so many issues affecting them in the district ranging from low inclusion of children in terms of general council planning and budget processing, lack of capacity building for children in the district around local council activities, poor health facility to children at school level.
