Sierra Leonean popular DJ and former President of Sierra Leone DJs Union, Pilot CPO advised Kao Denero to work with telecommunication companies to reduce data tariff instead of creating playlist for DJs.
According to CPO, Kao Denero should focus more on working with telecommunication companies to regulate data tariff so that people can be able to subscribe and follow Sierra Leone music on the Internet.
Before he was appointed as Ambassador of Entertainment by the Government of Sierra Leone, Kao Denero made the statement about the reduction of data tariff during their visit to the President and First Lady. He pleaded to them to help talk to telecommunication companies to reduce data tariff so that fans can be able to follow Sierra Leone music on the Internet. CPO tried to draw the attention of Kao Denero to this issue since he is now the Ambassador that is representing the entertainment industry.
He continued saying that, the National Playlist that Kao Denero is trying to create and impose to night club and radio station DJs will not work. He said DJs always create their own playlist.
DJ CPO was part of the executive board selected by Kao Denero to represent the DJs. Few weeks later, he resigned from the board. A statement was later released from the Office of Ambassador that CPO and three other people were relieved from duties because they were not working with the ideology of the Ambassador.
After the appointment of Kao Denero as an Ambassador, he prioritized in creating a national playlist that will be distributed to all the DJs across the country. He said musicians can still premiere their new songs in radio stations after 8pm as the national playlist will be played during the day.
As a proficient DJ who has served the entertainment industry for decades, the former president took to his social media and advised his former boss, Kao Denero to focus on working with telecommunication companies to reduce data tariff instead of creating national playlist.
