A youth-led group in Koidu City has issued a strong ultimatum to individuals involved in the sale of kush in the Central Community.
The Central Youths Organization (C.Y.O.), based in Kono District, released a letter on July 10, 2025, warning all kush dealers to cease their activities within ten days.
The notice, which ends on July 21, 2025, gives a clear deadline. After that date, the group says it will begin taking action. According to the letter, anyone found selling kush in the area will be peacefully arrested by the C.Y.O Youth Task Force. Those arrested will then be handed over to the police for further action.

The organization also said it will not be working alone. It plans to work closely with community leaders and local security personnel to carry out this plan and make sure the rules are followed throughout the Central Community. The group says this step is necessary because of the growing number of young people using kush, which they believe is putting the future of the community in danger.
The C.Y.O stated that the focus of this action is only on those who are selling or distributing kush. It made clear that individuals who use the drug are not being targeted in this campaign. The goal is to stop those who bring the drug into the community and make it available for sale.
In the letter, Acting Chairman Amb. Amadu Tarawallie said the aim is to protect lives, bring peace back to the area, and help improve the image of the Central Community. He said the sale of kush has caused real harm among young people, and taking action now is one way to help the area move forward.
“This is not personal,” the letter said. “Use this grace period to stop now.”

The group is calling on all residents of the Central Community to support the effort. They believe that everyone has a role to play in creating a safer and drug-free environment. By working together, they hope to help protect young people and set a better example for the future.
