The proposed peaceful demonstration of August 10th, 2022 has turned out to be a bloody one as many lives and properties were lost.

After the situation has been put under control by government instituting a nationwide curfew, different institutions, organizations, and individuals have called on citizens to stay calm.

Hon. Kandeh Yumkella of the National Ground Coalition has also called on Sierra Leoneans to be calm respect for law and order and the rule of law.

“We observed in horror and sadness the riots in many parts of our country. I call for calm and respect for law and order, and the pre-eminence of the rule of law. Our prayers are with the families that lost loved ones”.
