Kandeh Yumkella Spits Fire After The Suspension Of Auditor General
Morlai Ibrahim Kamara Kandeh Yumkella, has expressed his frustration on his twitter page over the suspension of the Auditor-General, Mrs. Lara Taylor-Pearce, & her deputy in charge of specialized audit, Tamba Momoh, indefinitely. He stated that the Auditor-General reports to Parliament and not to the Presidency.
He described the situation as unprecedented and unfortunate. A decision he considers to be tantamount to an attempt to silence her and interfere with her independence a few days before the release of the 2020 Audit report.
He concludes his statement by stating that it is another nail in the coffin of accountability and democracy
