Mayor of Freetown Yvonne Aki Sawyerr has Paid Courtesy to Former Liberian Former Liberia  President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

The Mayor also spend time at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development, connecting with the  Amujae Sisters, a group of influential women.

The Amujae Initiative is developed to create and sustain a league of women leaders within the public service arena in Africa, the Amujae Initiative is the flagship programme of the EJS Center.

Amujae Leaders represent women from diverse backgrounds with a similar track record of achievements in public life and a shared passion for uplifting African women and girls and the continent as a whole.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for Mayor Aki Sawyerr to catch up with Riva Levinson, a prominent figure in the center’s network. The visit underscores the strong ties between Freetown’s leadership and the influential women’s empowerment organization founded by the Nobel Peace Prize laureate.

“It was a truly remarkable experience to spend time with Madam Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and the incredible women of the Amujae Sisters,” said Mayor Aki Sawyerr.

“Their dedication to advancing women’s rights and development in Africa is truly inspiring, and I am honored to have had the chance to connect with them.”

The Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development, named after the former Liberian president, is a prominent institution dedicated to fostering women’s leadership and empowerment across the African continent.
