A country of fewer than eight million people, where freedom of speech is not guaranteed after making the speech, happens to be a safe haven for one of Europe’s most wanted drug traffickers, who goes by the name of Leijdekkers.
A drug kingpin who is supposed to be in solitary confinement at a maximum-security prison in the Netherlands for a 24-year sentence for smuggling more than 7 tons of cocaine is somehow miraculously living in one of the most impoverished countries in the west of Africa, called Sierra Leone. Since at least early 2023, according to what two sources told Reuters..
Sierra Leone, a country where its populace can’t even afford to live on a dollar a day, has recently been hit with a synthetic drug called kush, one of which has been devouring the lives of youths in alarming numbers.
Walai, I cannot forget to mention how the Guinean authorities caught the driver of the Sierra Leone ambassador’s official vehicle with kilos of cocaine all bagged up inside the ambassador’s diplomatic vehicle.
More than three thousand youths in the country have seen their lives come to a short, horrific end due to this deadly street drug.
While over 80% of youths in every neighbourhood are battling with recovery from the irresistible dirty-cheap poison.
The streets of Freetown have been infested with all sorts of illicit drugs. From molly, ecstasy, tramadol, Xanax, and cocaine all can be traced and
acquired easily with just a phone call in any quantity of your choice, as long as you can fit the bill.
Families have been torn apart and shattered because the future of their loved ones has been irreparably destroyed by individuals who have power and influence.
“It’s a crisis, and we won’t shy away from saying so. I was born and raised in Freetown and I’ve never seen anything like this before. It’s overwhelming.”
Says Ibrahim Kargbo, the acting deputy director of the country’s Drug Law Enforcement Agency on an interview with Tommy Trenchard for NPR.
It is not a coincidence that at the time Leijdekkers, the European drug lord, is hiding in the West African country of Sierra Leone, is the same time illicit drugs have been flooding the streets and corners of the country.
Recent photos that surfaced online show the European convicted felon in the same building as the head of state in Sierra Leone.
They will tell you that the president has no knowledge of who Leijdekkers was at the time the image was taken which would not be a surprise because we have a president who is globally known to always look out for the well-being of his people.
But what they won’t tell you is:
- Who always invites Leijdekkers to the events where the president happens to be?
-
How Leijdekkers, a high-profile convict who is responsible for destroying so many lives in Europe through his drug trade, happens to find himself in Sierra Leone among the upper echelons.
-
Who has been giving refuge to Leijdekkers all this time when the Netherlands government has been searching for him to answer for the crimes he committed?
-
How did he get into the country?
-
If he could ship 7 tons of cocaine in the Netherlands, a first-world country with state-of-the-art security protocols, how many tons would he be able to traffic in a third-world corruption prone country like Sierra Leone?
-
Who are those Sierra Leonean drug distributors responsible for destroying the lives of thousands of Sierra Leonean youths with the street drug called Kush?
They drive exotic cars and live a lavish, reckless lifestyle at the detriment of laying waste the lives of other parents’ children.
Knowing all of this, how do they feel at night when they lay down to sleep?
So many questions, but like always, we’re not going to get answers that prove beyond a reasonable doubt.
Instead, we’ll see mortals like Sylvia Olayinka Blyden, one of the shameless writers who is very economical with the truth and very creative in lying, doing all forms of gymnastics to ensure she puts up a strong defence.
Shifting goalposts this time is really the hardest job to do now, especially on this app.
Lol. There’s no way you can defend such without sounding foolish.
U said the fact.nothing but the fact keep it up
God will fight for his people. I know this well. Get ready. Judgement is here.
True na true ya
My question here is how can they allow a drug Lord like Jos escape from them while he has already committed a crime?? I think our government too have a question to ask them which road did he use to escape if not there border line
I think the writer is insane and fallacious to the truth, where was the Dutch government when the fugitive escape and surfaced in Turkey, why did the Dutch government didn’t ask for his extradition but allowed the Turkish government to kicked him out, did the Dutch government reported to Sierra Leone government that he’s a wanted man he’ll no , how do you think that the president of Sierra leone would know that he’s a wanted person? By magic , please allow the president to breathe fresh air
That fugitive was never in Holland when he was convicted. His trial and conviction all happened in absentia
How did he escape from the sufisticated Turkish security and land in Sierra Leone
How did he escape from the Turkey security and landed in Freetown
Continue to ask the tough questions, my brother. But all you will get from this govt is, “We are investigating.” Till thy Kingdom come. Nothing to see here, nothing to tell. “WE MOVE” unto the next story: “The Govt. has received pledges of USD ($) 500 Billion for bla bla bla.” And we all say, “Hooray, di Prezo dae woke.”
