There are thousand-plus issues I can’t entirely agree with David Sengeh. We hardly see things from the same point of view. I challenge him on so many matters of national interest. Even when he doesn’t have to, he always clarifies his position on the issues I raise and go on to challenge me as well because there’s no absolute truth.
In all our differences, we always end up with one thing—we both want a better Sierra Leone. At the end of each conversation, we ask ourselves, “What can we do to see a better Salone for all?” We end on a positive note by reminding ourselves that wanting a better Salone for everyone is more important than the million things we disagree on and all our differences.
I will continue to say this; we cannot build a better nation by bringing others down because we disagree with them. Our country will NEVER prosper if all we do is spread lies and hate and cultivate jealous minds toward people holding different views from ours.
And now it is becoming even more difficult to challenge those in power on national issues because someone somewhere is always ready to use your opinions to further destroy the people they hate. So, while we pray for a better Salone, we must do this with clean hearts devoid of jealousy, hate, slander, and revenge.
