Hon. Aminata Sesay, a Member of Parliament representing the All People’s Congress (APC) from Port Loko, has assured the Sierra Leone Police that the party’s planned protest will remain peaceful and free from casualties.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with AYV Media, Hon. Sesay stated that the APC has formally applied for permission to proceed with the demonstration and is currently awaiting official clearance from the police.
”We have applied, and we are expecting a clearance from the police. We will present the President with the number of people who oppose Edmond Alpha’s appointment,” she said.
She emphasized that the safety of citizens remains a top priority for the party, adding, ”As APC, the safety of our people comes first; we will hold the peaceful protest without any casualties. Let them give us the clearance to hold our peaceful protest.”
Hon. Sesay further noted that constituents have expressed concerns over electoral integrity, urging lawmakers to ensure that the issues surrounding the 2023 elections are not repeated in the 2028 polls.
