The All Peoples Congress (APC) party successfully secured police coverage for their National Advisory Committee meeting, scheduled for today at 1:00 PM at the party headquarters in Freetown.

A letter dated July 21st, 2024, from the APC National Secretary General, Lansana Dumbuya Esq., addressed to the Inspector General of Police, requested police presence for the meeting, which is the second-highest decision-making body of the party.

The Sierra Leone Police responded with a letter dated July 22nd, 2024, confirming receipt of the request and granting approval for police coverage. The response, signed by ACP Ismail Keita (psc) on behalf of the Inspector General, reminds the APC of the need to adhere to the Public Order Act No. 46 of 1965 and the Road Traffic Regulation, 2007.

The letter further instructs the APC to liaise with the Regional Police Commander, Freetown West (Lumley), Mr. Sylvester M.N. Koroma, regarding specifics of the security arrangements. A copy of the response was sent to the Regional Police Commander, Director of Operations, LUC Central Division, and Director of OSD for their information and action.

This approval ensures a smooth and secure environment for the APC’s crucial National Advisory Committee meeting.
