The acting National Publicity Secretary of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Sidi Yaya Tunis has assured members and supporters that the party will win all four elections in the 2023.

Sidi Yaya Tunis gave the assurance following the conclusion of a National Advisory Committee (NAC) meeting organized by the leadership of the party to discuss the amended party Constitution.

Speaking to this press shortly after the meeting, Sidi Yayah Tunis expressed confidence about the party chance of winning the 2023 general elections, stating that the current Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) government has no tangibles to point at ahead of the elections and that there is no way the elections will give them another mandate.

According to the main opposition mouthpiece, the ruling SLPP has not worked in the interest of the people of this country, he said, all political parties have condemned its governance style outright.

According to The Exclusive Newspaper, he cited the many ills of the current government which, he said, include acute human rights abuses; harassment and intimidation of political opponents and women; unlawful killings; the widely condemned suspension of Auditor General, Lara Taylor Pearce; the bloated wage bill; the lit service in the fight against corruption; the unpopular and unwelcome mid-term population census; the widely condemned pardon granted to a convicted murderer (LAC), among many others.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tunis was reportedly invited by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for questioning relating to alleged incitement following his interview with Radio Democracy, 98.1.
