Popular APC Socialite, Madam Fatmata Kamara Resigns From Party

A renowned Tonkolili politician and socialite, Madam Fatmata Kamara, widely known as FA Kilimanjaro, has officially tendered her resignation from the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) on January 12th, 2024.

According to reports from Awareness Times, the former APC powerhouse, who played a pivotal role in leading the 2017 campaign advocating for the selection of the then Justice Minister and Attorney General, Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara, as the 2018 APC Presidential Candidate, did not provide any explicit reasons for her decision to part ways with the political party.

Speculation is rife that Madam Fatmata Kamara’s departure is linked to a growing unease within certain APC factions.

Efforts are currently underway to persuade FA Kilimanjaro to reconsider her resignation from the APC. However, sources close to her suggest that she is already being courted by the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) to join their ranks.

The political landscape awaits further developments as this unexpected shift in allegiance raises questions about the future trajectory of Madam Fatmata Kamara’s political career.

I keep wondering why EBK's name must always surface each time the SLPP talks about issues. If a member of the APC feels like resigning, that person is exercising his or her right. SLPP won the 2018 elections and we're expected to implement their manifesto but sadly, they shifted their focus on EBK, a man who ruled for two terms and will never qualify to become president of the country. If I were the SLPP, I would have seen the APC and EBK like a lion in a cage. You can see it, hear it roaring but in a cage, can't prevent me from moving around. SLPP has always appeared to be a crying baby, complaining that the APC did not allow them to deliver their promise. However, the APC did prevent them from corrupt practices ( see audit reports since 2019).

Every human puts on cap to grow. One might be doing a grave mistake being an elite panting behind unfuturistic set of people that think not of development but to bring calamity in to the country..Go ahead Madam and find a greener pasture, you have all the democratic right to associate or disassociate. Fatmata Kamara has her rights to resign from a Party that do not have a future. Fatmata has proactively recognized that the APC and their old guards are not interested in the development of the country but continue to defend Ernest Bai Koroma. Considering her future as a very young lady whose futures lies in the development of her country, believed that, the only way she can be developed and by extension, develop herself and familis to pitched fence and gave her aligeance to the only party that do have the capability to develop this nation, which is the SLPP. No mistake at all.
