Sierra Leone’s Main Opposition Party, All Peoples Congress (APC) has on the 16th September 2023 released a statement stating that, they have summoned two of their party members.

The members were Hon. Mohamed Bangura and Hon. Alfred Thompson due to the fact that they did not follow their party’s mandate to boycott all governance processes in the country.  They have been asked by their party to appear before the disciplinary and grievance committee to further explain their actions.

The release reads: “Mohamed Bangura and Alfred Thompson summoned to face the disciplinary and grievance committee.

“The All People’s Congress wishes to inform its general membership that Hon. Mohamed Bangura and Alfred Thompson have been officially summoned to appear before the Disciplinary and Grievance Committee, a creature of Chapter 6 of the Party’s 2022 constitution which comprises the following members:

Africanus Sorie Sesay Esq. (National Legal Adviser)

Hon. Haja Miatta Amara (Parliamentary Group Rep);

Amy Jordan Kanu (National Young Congress Rep);

Alie Badara Tarawalie (Local Councils Rep);

Haja Isatu B. Konea (Regional Rep);

Sheik Mohamed Lamin Kamara (National Imam);

Hon. Dauda Dumbuya (Veteran Rep);

Nanette Thomas (Women’s Congress Rep), Chairperson;

Rev. Michael Samura (Chaplain);

Mohamed Dondondo Bangura (Elders Council Rep);

Dr. S.S. Marah (National Executive Committee Rep).

It is anticipated that the Committee will look into the matter with a judicious spectacle whilst the general membership are encouraged to monitor the process.
