Sierra Leone’s opposition All People’s Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its commitment to democracy and fair elections emphasizing that investigations into weaknesses and reforms for the June 24, 2023 elections are underway.

Dr. Kelfala Marah and Dr. Richard Konteh disclosed this on Wednesday during a press conference at the party headquarters in Freetown.

The duo who are representing the party in the Electoral Systems and Management Bodies Review Committee said the press conference was aimed at updating party members and supporters about the progress of the Tripartite Committee peace dialogue with the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).

The APC representatives announced that they would be investigating the upcoming June 24, 2023 elections and previous elections to identify weaknesses and recommend reforms. The party grassroots demonstrated their support and patience as leaders urged them to give the tripartite committee a chance to complete their work.

At the press conference, the party reassured supporters about its commitment to restoring democracy and ensuring free and fair elections. They exuded authority as they answered questions about the Tripartite Committee’s progress and the APC’s involvement.
