According to a leaked audio clip circulating on social media, Omrie Golley, a prominent Sierra Leonean lawyer and former spokesman for the Revolutionary United Front (RUF), has declared Mohamed Omodu Kamara, also known as Jagaban, “unfit” for leadership in the APC.

In the recording, Golley repeatedly characterises Jagaban as “not a clean human being,” claiming that he is “not clean spiritually nor physically” and stating that the situation “needs to be handled.”

The leaked audio also depicts Golley accusing Jagaban of touring communities and handing out money, a practice he claims is done with “total disrespect.” Golley attributes the widespread acceptance of Jagaban’s overtures to poverty within the party’s base, claiming that many APC supporters are vulnerable due to financial difficulties.

“Our party is full of poor people,” Golley is reported to have stated; “if someone has been for days without proper food, whoever comes to them with all kinds of messages they will accept that person as long as that person is dashing them money.”

Golley warns that Jagaban’s behaviour risks making the APC “unelectable” if left unchecked, referring to him as a “loose cannon” and urging party leaders to take serious steps to rein him in.

The audio clip has been widely distributed online, sparking debate among party members and the general public. The statements in this report are based on the content of the leaked recording and reflect Golley’s remarks.
