There was a stand-off yesterday at the National Headquarters of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) on Old Railway Line, Brookfields, Freetown as group of party stakeholders headed by Lawyer Abdulai O. Conteh were prevented by some party members from entering the offices.

This fresh internal fracas took place in early hours of yesterday, 15th July, 2021 and was witnessed by some other senior members of the party.

According to a member of the APC media team, Videl Bultman, the said stakeholders were trying to enter the party headquarters for a secret meeting, when some of the party marshals stationed at the office locked all the three main gates to the party offices.

He however noted that the aggrieved stakeholders did not fight back but decided to move their meeting to another unknown issue.

According to the APC media man, the stand-off could not be unconnected to rumours going rounds within the party hierarchy that some members have selected Dr. Abdulai O. Conteh to act as interim Chairman of the party to temporarily replace the current National Chairman and Leader, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma; a rumour, he noted, did not go down well with some of the grassroots members of the party.

Meanwhile, according to Bultman the APC Secretariat is trying to resolve the issue.
