Institute for Legal Research and Advocacy for Justice (ILRAJ) highlighted the part of the law that will implicate and prosecute any electoral officer who tend to embark on election violation.

ILRAJ is an independent non-partisan public policy research and educational think tank established to explain, monitor and contribute to the protection of human rights. They have conducted many research and have organized many symposiums, debates and other educational gathering to foster the laws of Sierra Leone.

In their publication which they titled “secrecy Matters: protecting Your Vote, Protecting Our Democracy” they said, “ the infringement of secrecy by an electoral officer, polling assistant, or polling agent as a polling station is a serious criminal offence. Offenders can face a minimum fine of 20,000 Leones or a minimum imprisonment term of 5 years or both fine and imprisonment.”

In the end they advise people to report any violation by electoral officers, polling agents or polling assistants.
