Popular APC Lawyer and former ACC Commissioner, Ady Macauley has blasted Sierra Leone Government over what he referred to as euphemism of the government’s language used in acceptance of his party’s nominees regarding the ‘Cross Party Committee’.

In a press statement released yesterday, the government stated that the President, Dr. Julius Maada Bio has accepted the nominees in addition to an inclusive broad-based stakeholder representation for the Committee.

According to Macauley, clause 3 of the agreement for National Unity states clearly that the committee should be made up of a cross-party representation and that there is no provision for a cross-broad section of stakeholders.

He said the language used by the government is a euphemism to co-opt enablers of electoral theft & democratic vandalism hiding behind the cloak of independent think tanks & national interest groups. He said that the APC must not accept such tactics.

His post sparked reactions among netizens who took to the comments section to express their views.

@ Awakening Salone said, “The APC lost it the very day they agreed to go into dialogue with a deceitful Bio proxy, and could not adhere to a key demand of disaggregated figures from the ECSL. This trend had to go on for as long as Bio is in power 4+ years.”

“We knew this will happen the moment APC came into an agreement with the govt. It the consequences of betraying the people, the nation & the Country.” Emjay opined.

Similarly, Kamara Alpha opined that,  “Religious leaders and civil societies(evil societies) have been enablers of all the killings and bad things Bio and his government have done in Sierraleone and must in no way be included in the committee. Moreover Bio is never to be trusted not even in our wildest dreams 😴.”
