All People’s Congress (APC) Parliamentarian, Honorable Mohamed Bangura, has confirmed his intention to leave the APC and join the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Sobeh.

Bangura cited incompatibility of values as the reason for his decision. “I realized that my value and their values are not compatible at this point in time,” he explained, adding that he wished to avoid further conflict within the APC.

While expressing reluctance to leave the APC, a party he said he “loves so dearly,” Bangura stated that recent political experiences prompted him to reassess his affiliation.

He clarified that while currently still a member of the APC, he is “on the verge” of joining the PDP Sobeh. “So as it is now, I am in APC, but I am not a part of APC because everything about me is PDP Sobeh… it’s just a matter of handing over to them my official resignation letter, that is what is delaying my move,” he said.

Bangura plans to initially join the PDP Sobeh as an ordinary member, with future roles to be determined later. He compared his situation within the APC to being in an unwanted relationship, suggesting it is best to move on.

He reiterated his affection for the APC but cited “too many things in the party about him and them” as contributing factors to his decision.

Bangura concluded by emphasizing that his move is politically motivated and that he intends to maintain positive relationships with his former APC colleagues.
