Chairman and Leader of the Alliance Democratic Party (ADP), Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray has hinted on the future mismanagement of Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) grant by the government.

In social media post Kamarainba said, “He dances, she dances, and they dance and celebrate whenever Sierra Leone gets money from our international partners.”

The ADP Chairman added that most of these grants and aids are siphoned by leaders in the government living “the majority of Sierra Leoneans” to go through “excruciating hardship and extreme poverty”.

The post came hours after the US government signed the 480 million US Dollars compact with the Sierra Leonean government on Friday, September 27. The grant is meant for addressing Sierra Leone’s energy crisis which is among the worst in the African region.

Many were left surprised by this political comment thrown by the ADP Leader, which was his first in several years. Kamarainba was found guilty of sexual penetration and sentenced to 32 years in prison. The court said the politician is guilty of having sex with a 15-year-old on Valentine’s Day in 2020. But many of his supporters claim that the ruling was politically motivated to silence his criticism of the government.
