In a strong message directed towards the Chief Electoral Commissioner, Mohamed Konneh, a popular young politician of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Osman Timbo, emphasized the crucial role that the electoral commission plays in safeguarding the peace and stability of the nation.

Osman’s statement underlined the importance of respecting the will of the people and promoting transparency in the electoral process.

Addressing the Electoral Commissioner and the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL), Osman expressed his concerns regarding the tallying of results. He emphasized that the peace of the nation rests in their hands, urging them to handle the electoral process with utmost care and fairness.

Again, I will remind Konneh and the ECSL that the peace of this nation is in their hands,” Osman stated firmly. “Respect the votes of the people. Projecting the tally of votes will only enhance transparency.”
