Former Vice President Chief Samuel Sam-Sumana has launched a strategic outreach initiative aimed at unifying the All Peoples Congress (APC) ahead of the 2028 elections, sending a high-level delegation to engage with fellow flagbearer aspirants.

On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, representatives from SamSumana’s “SAM 28” campaign team met with senior party stakeholders Dr. Ibrahim Bangura and Hon. Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara (JFK). The move comes shortly after questions regarding SamSumana’s eligibility to contest for the APC flagbearership were reportedly resolved.

The delegation, led by SAM 28 National and Global Chairman Hon. Dauda Tombo Bangura, included prominent team members Pa Akar Koroma, Brima Michael Turay, Gen. Alhassan Bangura, and Frederick Marke-Johnson. One of the key engagements took place at the Leeds Hotel in Aberdeen, where the team paid a courtesy call to Dr. Ibrahim Bangura.

According to a statement from his camp, the former Vice President views these engagements as a timely necessity to prepare and unite the party amidst ongoing challenges. The meetings were described as “fruitful,” with commitments made for further bilateral engagements between the respective camps.

The SAM 28 leadership indicated that this outreach is part of a broader nationwide campaign to engage all flagbearer aspirants and stakeholders. The stated objective is to foster internal cohesion within the APC to secure a victory and return to State House in the 2028 general elections.
