The Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has released a public notice regarding an upcoming workshop aimed at reviewing the party’s constitution.

The workshop, organized by the Constitutional Review Committee in collaboration with the party’s National Officers, is set to take place at the Bintumani Hotel on May 25, 2024, from 9 am to 5 pm.

The main goal of the workshop is to pinpoint critical areas in the party’s constitution that require revisions. This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure the party’s guiding document remains relevant and effective in addressing current and future challenges. The workshop will also outline a detailed plan for further engagement with the entire party membership, spanning various regions of Sierra Leone.

Umaru Napoleon Koroma, the Committee Secretary, emphasized the importance of this review process in the public notice. He reassured party members that they would be kept well-informed about all developments related to the constitutional review. Koroma expressed deep gratitude to the members for their consistent support, highlighting the collaborative spirit that has always been a cornerstone of the SLPP.

This workshop represents a significant step in the SLPP’s ongoing commitment to internal democracy and organizational improvement. By involving a broad spectrum of the party’s membership in the review process, the SLPP aims to foster a more inclusive and participatory approach to governance within the party. The initiative is expected to bring together key stakeholders from across the country, ensuring diverse perspectives are considered in the constitutional amendments.
