The National Public Relations Officer of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Mr. Moses Mambu, has explained that President Julius Maada Bio’s international travels are largely driven by interest from major investors who prefer direct engagement with the Head of State.

“In an interview with AYV, Mambu stated that the President’s presence at high-level international meetings and forums is intentional, as global investors increasingly seek dialogue with President Bio rather than working through intermediaries He emphasized that such engagements are crucial for building confidence, trust, and long-term partnerships that can translate into tangible investments for Sierra Leone.

The President is traveling because big investors want to deal with him directly, not through representatives,” Mr. Mambu stated, highlighting the importance of face-to-face interactions in securing major commitments.

He noted that President Bio’s leadership style and reform agenda have positioned Sierra Leone as an attractive destination for investment, particularly in sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, energy, mining, and human capital development. These direct engagements, he said, allow the President to clearly articulate the country’s development priorities, policy reforms, and investment incentives.

Mr. Mambu further explained that high-level diplomacy and economic engagement are essential tools for national development in an increasingly competitive global environment. By personally engaging with investors and development partners, the President can negotiate opportunities that support job creation, economic growth, and sustainable development.

The SLPP spokesperson urged the public to view the President’s travels within the broader context of economic diplomacy, stressing that such missions aim to attract investments that will deliver long-term benefits to the people of Sierra Leone.

He reaffirmed the party’s confidence in President Bio’s approach, describing it as strategic and results-oriented, with the ultimate goal of strengthening Sierra Leone’s economy and improving citizens’ livelihoods.
