A delegation from the United Kingdom branch of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), led by Daniel N. Faux, paid a courtesy visit on Monday 5, January 2026 to Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa, the party’s newly elected National Chairman.

The meeting took place at Sir Jimmy’s private office in Hill Station, Freetown.

The UK delegation presented a congratulatory and recognition gift to Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa in honour of his election as National Chairman. Delegation members praised his “unwavering and dynamic leadership,” highlighting the role his stewardship has played in shaping the party’s direction and articulating a vision for a brighter future for Sierra Leone.

During the visit, members of the UK branch expressed appreciation for Sir Jimmy’s commitment to party unity and strategic direction. Delegation representatives described the gift as a token of recognition and solidarity from SLPP members living and working abroad.

The visit underscores the strong ties between the SLPP’s international branches and its leadership in Sierra Leone. Party officials said the gesture reflects a shared commitment among members at home and overseas to support the party’s goals and to work collaboratively toward national progress.

Party insiders see Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa’s election and the subsequent international show of support as reinforcing internal cohesion and boosting morale among supporters across the SLPP network.

With backing from both domestic and international branches, the SLPP leadership aims to consolidate its agenda and engage members in advancing the party’s priorities.

The UK delegation’s visit is likely to be followed by further exchanges between the party’s global chapters and its national leadership as they coordinate on strategy and outreach.
