The Sierra Leone men’s national team, Leone Stars have departed for Guinea-Bissau ahead of African Cup of Nations Group A Qualifiers.
The team with 15 players and technical officials is being led by the Vice President I of the Sierra Leone FA, Harold Nat Johnson.
A total of eight (8) foreign-based players including Amadou Bakayoko, Augustus Kargbo and Jonathan Morsay will join the squad later.
Leone Stars will play their final match in Group A against host, Guinea-Bissau at the Estadio 24 de Setembro in Bissau.
Sierra Leone has already failed to qualify for Africa’s premier tournament which will take place in Ivory Coast next year.
Nigeria and Guinea-Bissau are already through in Group A with Sierra Leone and São Tomé failing to reach the finals next year.
The team showed a great deal of a fight. Hopefully, we can battle for the next AFCON as we’ve missed on this one. All the best brothers.
