The Sierra Leone Ambassador to Morocco recently hosted Mr. Babadi Kamara, President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), during a high-level meeting aimed at strengthening football ties and promoting national unity through sports.
During the engagement, Mr. Kamara was formally introduced as Sierra Leone’s football president and commended for his strong track record in developing the sport. Prior to leading the SLFA, he served as President of the Bo District Football Association, where he personally funded and built a mini stadium in Bo Town to international standards. Under his leadership, Bo District won three national trophies and participated in CAF competitions.

Mr. Kamara expressed appreciation to the Ambassador and embassy representatives for their continued support of Sierra Leone, highlighting their contributions to national development and football during challenging times. He also encouraged unity, patriotism, and support for the growth of the game across the country.
The SLFA President praised Morocco’s investment in football and expressed optimism for Sierra Leone’s future in the sport, voicing hopes that the national team will qualify for AFCON 2027 and, in the long term, the FIFA World Cup.

The meeting underscored the importance of diplomatic engagement in supporting sports development and fostering international partnerships for Sierra Leone.
