As the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) elective Congress draws near, new faces and fresh voices are emerging in the leadership race. One such name making the rounds is Aminata Bangura, a woman who has officially been endorsed as a candidate for the SLFA Presidency.

Aminata Bangura has been involved in numerous football projects across the country, often without the cameras, the fanfare, or the headlines. She has reportedly backed community tournaments, youth development initiatives, and grassroots engagement, all out of a genuine desire to see the game flourish.

Furthermore, her message is built around the idea of purpose over praise, with the rallying call: “Believe in the Game.” A vote for Aminata Bangura, they argue, is a vote for long-term investment in talent, fair governance, and development at every level of the sport.

But while her intentions appear noble and her supporters passionate, one cannot ignore a lingering concern from parts of the football community: Can she deliver?

From suppers, she has been described as a philanthropist that have supported multitudes of football projects blankly without the clouts or wanting to get praises, but rather doing it in her free will to support football-oriented activities as she aims at developing and growing in every aspect.

As the debate intensifies ahead of Congress, the new face of the SLFA Presidency, Aminata Bangura, is an inspiring candidate for president at the Sierra Leone Football Association.
