The General Secretary of East End Lions Football Club, Alpha Jalloh Esq has written an official letter to the Sierra Leone Premier League Board requesting for their runners up prize money in the just concluded Sierra Leone Premier League.
“I write to inquire whether a prize will be presented to the runner-up of the recently concluded Sierra Leone Premier League as was done in previous years,” Jalloh Esq wrote.
“Our records indicate that in 2019, the Premier League Board awarded Le 150,000,000 (One Hundred and Fifty Million Leones) to the winners and the runner-up was given Le 100,000,000 (One Hundred Million). All other teams that participated in the league were also given prizes.”
He added that, “We recall a conversation at the start of the league in which the PLB undertook to maintain the past precedent or improve on the same. Kindly let us know if our recollection was incorrect.”
The Champions Bo Rangers Football Club received the sum of Le250,000,000, whilst the runners up are yet to receive their prize money.
