Kumba Brima, a prominent striker from Sierra Leone’s Kallon Female Football Club, has officially signed her first professional contract with Riga Football Club Women in Latvia. The transfer allows her to compete in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Brima, also known as Kumba Zainab Brima, has gained recognition for her goal-scoring prowess in the Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League. She won the Golden Boot award for the 2023/24 season with 39 goals, following a successful 2022/23 season where she scored 26 goals.
In addition to her club achievements, Brima represents the Sierra Leone national women’s football team, the Sierra Queens, contributing significantly to their success in various tournaments. She was named the Female Footballer of the Year for the 2023/24 season.

In the current 2024/25 season, Brima has scored 19 goals and provided 8 assists in the first round of the league. Known for her clinical finishing, speed, and dribbling skills, she has established herself as a key player in women’s football.
Riga Football Club Women, owned by Russian businessman Sergey Lomakin, is a well-known team in the Latvian top-tier league, participating in both domestic and European competitions.
