Sierra Queens triumphed in their first game of the Women’s Day Cup, securing a thrilling 2-1 victory against Liberia.
The exciting kickoff took place yesterday, 2nd March at the Kenema Playing field. In the opening first matches, Sierra Leone U17 secured a win against Liberia U17 followed by Sierra Queens 2-1 win against Liberia u-20.
The team’s resilience and skill were on full display, setting a strong tone for the tournament ahead. Congratulations to our Queens – onwards to more victories!
Coinciding with International Women’s Day on March 8th, the tournament will also feature the U-17 and U-20 women’s national teams of Sierra Leone. This initiative serves as a strong representation of both countries uniting with the global community to advocate for gender equality and women’s.
This tournament provides a valuable opportunity for young female athletes to showcase their skills and gain valuable experience while promoting gender equality in the world of football.
