Her Excellency the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone Mrs. Fatima Maada Bio today 24th May 2022 join other mourners at the New City Hall in Freetown to honour the late Lamin Conteh (Junior Tumbu), who passed on early this month on the 5th May 2022.
In her tribute, the First Lady described the late man as a special person who touched the lives of many on earth. She noted that his departure has left a huge gap in his family, Leone Stars and the country as a whole.
She added that the late Junior Tumbu was a man of substance, a relentless and smart man who would always fight for what he believed.
“He was a patriot who served his country with his all,” she pointed out.
She, on behalf of the government and people of Sierra Leone, thanked the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) for its role in ensuring the late man gets the well deserved befitting burial.
In conclusion, she prayed for his soul to rest in perfect peace.
The Minister of Sports and President of SLFA, Hon. Ibrahim Nyelenkeh and Thomas Daddy Brima, in their tributes expressed shock over the demise of the late man.
Minister Ibrahim Nyelenkeh urged the family to accept this as the will of God.
“Junior Tumbu was a man who loved and cared for his family and friend,” he echoed, noting that his death has left a big gap in the family and the country as a whole.
