The Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire has defeated Leone Stars of Sierra Leone 5-1 in a friendly match at the Laurent Pokou Stadium in San-Pedro today 6th January y 2024.
The Elephants secured their opener goal in the first 15 minutes when Ousmane Diomande converted a free Kick. Former AC Milan and Barcelona Midfielder, Frank Kessie secured the second goal in the 35th Minutes with an acrobatic shot followed by Jonathan Bamba 38, Jereme Boga48, and Amani Lazari in the 84th minutes of play
Sierra Leone Forward, Rodney Micheal secured the lone consolation goal for Sierra Leone.
The encounter is a strategic move to enhance the Elephants preparation for the African Cup of Nations as they currently serve as they host.
Meanwhile, the Sierra Leone Football Association has confirmed another friendly match with the Atlas Lion of Morocco on the 11 January 2023.
Tapping from the experience of the Ivorians, Leone Stars are expecting to change things around in their next encounter with Morocco.
