The General Manager of FC Kallon, Tunde Jesse Scott has stated that defender, Yusif Sesay remains a contracted player of the club until 2024 and that makes him ineligible to play for any other team in the Sierra Leone Premier League.
He made this statement following reports of a loan deal the player to fellow Premier League side, Kamboi Eagles from Freetown FC.
Tunde Scott provided evidence ranging from the receipt of the NLe10,000 first trench payment transfer transaction for the player signed from Giants of Grassfield FC that took place on the 6th April 2021 and was received by Chairman, Jason S. Turay. He added that the total deal worth the sum of NLe 30,000.
He further produced Seasy’s player license prepared by the Sierra Leone Premier League Board in the previous season.
“We registered him in the previous season but he didn’t make several appearances because we granted his request he made to travel to Kenema for medication after he was facing a problem with his foot and since then he had never reported. Before the climax of the 2021/22 season, we heard that he was playing for Freetown FC but we never take any action against him because we only had few matches to play by then and we thought he was just trying to keep fit. Above all, it wasn’t a Premier League club,” he explained.
The FC Kallon General Manager said that they have never had any transfer transaction or a request from Freetown FC for the player, adding that they are now acting as the parent club of the player and has even gone further to loan him to another club in a deal he described as illegal.
“Yusif Sesay remains a player owned by FC Kallon and Freetown FC fully aware that they have never approached us to secure his either service permanently or a loan deal, therefore he is ineligible to play for Kamboi Eagles or any other team than FC Kallon,” Scott stated.
Before his move to FC Kallon, Yusif Sesay was part of the East End Lions FC squad that won the 2018/19 Sierra Leone Premier League season unbeaten. In 2022, he represented the Sierra Leone Under-23 side in the AFCON U-23 Qualifiers, but was eliminated on aggregates 2-1 by Zambia U-23 team.
